Dr. Md. Sabur Khan is the Founder and Chairman of Daffodil Group and Daffodil International University, with more than three decades of experience in entrepreneurship, education, ICT and institutional development. Beginning his business journey in 1990, he has built Daffodil from an ICT-focused enterprise into a diversified group with 50+ concerns, 6,000+ human resources and 30,000+ students across its education network.

A strong advocate for entrepreneurship-led education, Dr. Khan has played a pioneering role in connecting education with employability, technology, entrepreneurship and industry. His leadership in education includes establishing Daffodil Institute of IT in 1997 and Daffodil International University in 2002, while promoting programmes that encourage students to develop practical skills, entrepreneurial thinking and leadership capabilities.

His national leadership has included serving as President of the Bangladesh Computer Samity (2002–2003), President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (2013), and a member of the Prime Minister’s ICT Task Force. He currently serves as Chairman of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB) and Chairman of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Bangladesh.

Dr. Khan's international leadership spans higher education, entrepreneurship and technology. He served as President of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) for 2023–2024 and currently serves as Chairman of its Advisory Council for 2025–2026. He is also Treasurer-Elect of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) for 2027–2030—the first Bangladeshi to be elected to a leadership position in the organisation. He serves as Ambassador of the World Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (WUSME) in Bangladesh and as a Standing Committee Member of the Asian University Presidents Forum (AUPF). He has also served as Director of WITSA and Chairman of its Global Trade Committee.

His contributions to education, business and entrepreneurship have earned him honorary Doctorates, D.Litt degrees, professorships and national and international recognitions, including recognition as a Commercially Important Person (CIP) by the Government of Bangladesh. His book A Journey Towards Entrepreneurship has also been translated into two languages and incorporated into university curricula in Europe.

Beyond business and education, Dr. Khan remains committed to social development, supporting scholarships, social initiatives and livelihood programmes that create opportunities for underserved communities. His leadership philosophy centres on education, entrepreneurship and technology, with a focus on creating opportunities for young people to build skills, pursue entrepreneurship and contribute meaningfully to society.
