Dr. Mohamed Emran Hossain has been associated with Daffodil since 2002 and has played a significant role in strengthening its operations, institutions and strategic initiatives. With a background spanning higher education management, organisational development, quality assurance, internationalisation and business development, he has contributed to the growth of several Daffodil concerns over more than two decades.
He became Chief Operating Officer of Daffodil Group in 2017, following years of involvement in the administration and digitisation of Daffodil International University. Under his leadership, DIU strengthened its position as one of Bangladesh’s digitally advanced universities, while he also contributed to the launch, development and turnaround of several education, ICT and investment ventures within the Group.
Dr. Emran has also played an important role in developing international partnerships and institutional relationships. He has represented Daffodil in international associations and initiatives and has travelled to more than 50 countries, gaining extensive exposure to international education systems, organisational practices and cross-cultural environments.
His academic background includes degrees from the University of Dhaka, ITC ILO and Turin University, NCC Education UK and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, where he earned his doctorate in Science and Technology.
His leadership approach combines disciplined execution, strategic decision-making and operational excellence, with a strong focus on building capable teams, developing institutions and turning strategic plans into measurable outcomes.
